The underside of the cheek skin is caught with an absorbable suture and held to the deeper soft tissue of the cheek. The inside of the cheek is then sealed using one or two absorbable stitches that dissolve over time. Because the surgery is performed under local anesthesia, you can go home right after it’s done.
